Parks and Recreation Master Plan

PRESS RELEASE
Issued by the Town of South Bruce Peninsula on August 21, 2006

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula is undertaking a Parks and Recreation
Master Plan.

The Master Plan process will include public information sessions and public
meetings so that you, the resident, will have the opportunity to provide input and
assist with the future direction of our facilities, parks and recreation programs.

The Master Plan process will commence in the fall of 2006 and is expected to be
completed early in the summer of 2007.

Until the Plan is completed, the Town has placed a hold on approving any new
projects to be located in Town owned parks or facilities. Projects that Council
has placed on hold until the completion of the study are a new basketball court
(funds raised by AKA) and the creation of skateboarding facility. Both of these
projects, as well as countless others, are important initiatives within our Town
and will be considered during the creation of the overall Recreation Plan.
