Budget Amendment # 1 - Fire Pumper

WHEREAS the Manager of Emergency Services made a presentation to the Committee of the
Whole on June 4th, 2007 in regards to a Fire Pumper being available at a total cost of
$ 180,000.00 including ancillary equipment.
AND whereas on June 11th, 2007 Council adopted the Manager of Emergency Services
recommendation to proceed with the purchase of a new Fire Pumper.
AND whereas the monies for this new pumper have not been budgeted for in 2007.
AND whereas the full amount of the purchase will have to be appropriated from the Fire
Department Equipment Reserve.
AND whereas the 2007 budget amendment and the required appropriation for reserve are subject
to By-Law # 80-2002 and the Notice Requirements prescribed.
NOW therefore be and it is hereby resolved that subject to the requirements of By-Law Number
80-2002 Being a By-law to prescribe the form and manner and times for the provision of notice
being adhered to
THAT the Council of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula amend the 2007 Budget as follows:
Account # 10-11-985 Transfer from Reserve Increase from
$ 175,000.00 to $ 355,000.00
Account # 10-11-505 Increase Capital Expenditure from Revenue from
$ 180,000.00 to $ 360,000.00

so, with the knowledge that every $60,000 represents a 1% increase in the budget, Council has gone from a "0" percent increase to a 2% overspending which will have to be made up in 2008.
