Family Day Events Planned

FAMILY DAY IS ON THE WAY!!!!!
FAMILY DAY IS FEBRUARY 16TH. IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE WITH
OUR FAMILIES AND FRIENDS, GET OUT AND ENJOY SOME FUN
ACTIVITIES TOGETHER. MANY COMMUNITY GROUPS HAVE
CREATED A DAY FILLED WITH ACTIVITIES: ALL FOR FREE!

CHOOSE ONE OR AS MANY AS YOUR FAMILY CAN FIT IN.

REMEMBER: EVERYTHING IS FREE!
C'mon kids get the whole family involved!

11 am ­ 1 pm Bluewater Park/Pavilion ­ Weather permitting
Outdoor Skating, snowman building contest, hot
chocolate.

1 pm ­ 4 pm Bus leaves from Propellor Club/Meeting Place
Swimming for the family at Pt.Elgin Pool. Returning
@4pm

1 pm ­ 3 pm Sportsmen's Club
Archery instruction. Hatchery tour.

1:30pm -4pm Amabel Sauble School
Family Fun Games, floor hockey, sno-pitch etc
SUPPER (FREE) 5PM-7PM
Community of Christ Church (main street across from the gas station)
SRI LANKIN ­ Authentic food including vegetable and meat dishes
prepared by experienced cooks from Sri Lanka. 2 sittings @5pm & 6pm.
Limited seating.

St.John's United Church (main street next to town hall) 4:30pm & 6pm
OLD FASHIONED ITALIAN Spaghetti salad and garlic bread.
We hope to be prepared for the numbers that show up but apologize in
advance should response to this day be overwhelming!

7:30 `REACH FOR THE STARS' Upstairs St. John's United.
Presentation by Donna Geisler in this The Year of Astronomy. After her
presentation we hope to catch a look at the Dark skies through some
telescopes (weather permitting). Parents must accompany children under 14.
Teens and adults welcome.

6:30 PM MADAGASCAR II
A great animated family movie for all ages!

8 PM QUANTUM OF SOLACE
The latest James Bond flick! Older children and adult age
appropriate.
MARCH BREAK PROGRAM 2009

This year March Break programs will run from Monday March 16- Friday
20. Programs offered will include two day trips to `Plunge Pool' in
Collingwood and 1 day trip to Laser Quest. The other two days will offer
local programming run through the `PLAY' initiative organized by Jason
Whepplar and our high school Leadership students working with our Youth
Focus Group and Mike Squier our new Town Recreation Director.
As in the past, costs will be kept at a minimum. All registration is first come
first served. Each child must provide own lunch. Snacks will be provided.
Children with special needs must be accompanied by their own support
worker.

One difference this year: if our bus is full to either Plunge pool or Laser
Quest you may provide your own transportation to join us and qualify for
our group discounts.

BATTLE OF THE BANDS 2009

A great night out for our teens. Hosted by the Performing arts committee,
this spotlighting of young talent promises to be an energetic evening of local
bands giving us their best! April 3rd at Peninsula Shores District School.
Watch for more info to come. Help support our youth organized activities!
