RECREATION PUBLIC MEETINGS
The Town of South Bruce Peninsula will be holding a series of public meetings to gather information regarding
the types of recreation programs and opportunities desired by residents, appropriate fees for these programs
and the most effective methods of marketing within our Town. Tentatively these meeting will be held in Purple
Valley, Wiarton, Hepworth, Sauble Beach and Allenford in the last two weeks of August. Residents will be
notified of the dates and times of these meetings and are encouraged to come out and participate.

Week One - Soccer Skills & Games Week Two Flag Football Passing, Catching & Games
Week Three - Ultimate Frisbee Skills & Games Week Four Fun Racquet Sports Skills & Games
Parents are welcome to stay and play!
Participants must bring emergency contact information with them for the first session.
Participants will be given a permission slip at the first session that must be filled out by a parent or guardian and
returned immediately or at the beginning of the next session.
Please ensure children are sent with something to drink and sun screen

9TH ANNUAL BRITISH CANADIAN SOCCER CAMP
9th Annual British-Canadian Soccer Camps (a division of The Wiarton All-Girls Soccer Club) for boys and girls 6 to 12 years
of age
August 3 to August 7 with British UEFA coach, Dorian McLaggon. 4 1/2 days of fun with skills and tactics with lunch
provided for $20.00 per child.

Do you want to make your own ice cream, dig for dinosaur bones and look at the sun through a special
telescope?
Registration Fee $185 20% off for each additional child registered

THE BRUCE PENINSULA ROWING CLUB
The Bruce Peninsula Rowing Club gets together for a recreational row on Howdenvale Bay every Tuesday and Thursday
morning and evening 6:00am and 6:30pm, as well as Saturday morning 6:00am...weather permitting. New members
welcome...$180 per person, or $240 for a family. Come out for a free row

8TH ANNUAL BRUCE PENINSULA FESTIVAL OF FLIGHT
8th Annual Bruce Peninsula Festival of Flight Saturday August 8 9:30 am at Wiarton-Keppel Airport. Sponsored by Bruce
Peninsula Chapter 51 Recreational Aircraft Association, Canada (RAA) This year we honour Bernie Pietenpol and his
1920's designed airplane, the Pietenpol Air Camper. This fly-in attracts amateur-built and vintage aircraft from around the
province. We will also have a large exhibit of vintage motorcycles, courtesy of the Grey-Bruce Chapter CVMG. Canadian
Vintage Motorcycle Group. All-day breakfast at Mimi's Roof Top Cafe at the airport, and lunch by RAA Chapter 51 on the

SHORE 2 SHORE VOLUNTEER DRIVE
The organizers of the annual Shore 2 Shore Road Race will be holding a public meeting at the Ross Whicher
Centre on August 18th 2009 from 7:30 pm 9:30 pm in order to recruit volunteers for the 2010 version of the
race. Sadly, after 57 years the race has been canceled for 2009 due to lack of volunteers. Please come out and
help ensure this race happens in 2010 and continues on for many years to come.
SAUBLE BEACH FESTIVAL OF CLASSICAL GUITAR 2009
The sounds of the classical guitar to Sauble Beach August 19th to the 22nd as the Sauble Beach Festival of
Classical Guitar returns for 2009. This year has a stellar line up of international talent with performers from
Canada and the Netherlands. Tickets are $20 General Admission, $10 Students & Seniors. Info 905 928 3063
SAUBLE BEACH SANDFEST
August 7th to 9th marks the 13th edition of the Sauble Sandfest on one of Canada's Favourite Beaches Sauble
Beach. This year will be an amazing event with many new additions and traditional favorites. Come out to the
beach enjoy all of the wonderful events.
