PUBLIC NOTICE RE
FEES BY-LAW #102-2008

Take notice that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula
will be considering a By-law to set fees for the services performed by the fire department
for the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.

Consideration of First and Second reading of the By-law will take place at the August
11th Council meeting to be held at 315 George Street Wiarton. With possible
consideration of third and final reading at the September 2nd Council meeting.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA

BY-LAW NUMBER 102-2008
A By-law to Set Fees for Fire Department for the Town of
South Bruce Peninsula

WHEREAS the Corporation of the Town of South Bruce Peninsula wishes to enact a
consolidated fee by-law for the South Bruce Peninsula Fire Department.

AND WHEREAS Section 391.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001 states that a municipality
may pass by-laws imposing fees or charges on any class of persons for services or
activities provided or done by or on behalf of it; for costs payable by it for services or
activities provided or done by or on behalf of any other municipality or local board; and
for the use of its property including property under its control.

NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN
OF SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. It is intended that all provisions of this by-law shall be binding and
effective. In the event that any particular provision or provisions or part of a
provision is found to be void, voidable or unenforceable for any reason whatever,
then the particular provision or provisions or part of the provision shall be deemed
severed from the remainder of this by-law and all other provisions shall remain in
full force.

2. That non payment of billing on the due date specified therein shall result in a
penalty of 2 percent being added on the last day of each and every month the
default continues.

3. This by-law shall be known as the "Category 2 ­ Fees for Fire Department,
2008".

4. That By-Law 73-2004 is hereby rescinded.

5. This by-law and all schedules hereto shall come into full force and effect upon the
final passing thereof.

Letters to Lawyers/Insurance Companies (GST exempt) $ 50.00

Mechanical False Alarms (plus GST) $ 300.00

Requested Inspections (plus GST) $ 50.00 per hour

Occurrence Calls

NOTE 1: Fire apparatus usage fees vary dependant upon current agreements negotiated under
by-law with adjoining municipalities and Native Reserves. Fees as described herein shall not
supersede nor conflict with any fees or rates set out in said agreements.
