Willie's Successor Has Been Found!

While the Town of South Bruce Peninsula mourns the loss of it's
favourite son, a successor for Wiarton Willie has been located.

Within a day after commemorating Willie's passing, Town officials
received a call from Markdale informing us that they had successfully
secured a young albino groundhog. He had been initially spotted by
the Jennen family on Canada Day and appeared again several days
later. The Jennens, being big fans of Wiarton Willie and hearing that
Willie had passed away, felt that fate had intervened. It was just
meant to be! Once the Jennens secured the young albino they called
the Town with the good news.

In the evening of July 18, the young albino groundhog was
successfully transported to the Town of Wiarton to begin his new life
as a Wiarton's chief weather prognosticator. The new Willie will be
living in the lap of Groundhog luxury with his ergonomically sound
home, great new look, the beautiful view of Colpoys Bay, surrounded
by his adoring fans and loving caregiver The new Wiarton Willie is
ready to greet his fans and begin his life as a movie star. His first
question to the Mayor, Carl Noble was: "where is the clover?"

Visit the new Wiarton Willie in Willie's RE/MAX Home located in the
Ross Whicher Centre in Wiarton.
