Grant and Donation program

Town of South Bruce Peninsula is pleased to entertain funding requests for the 2009 year
from groups or individuals seeking support for not-for-profit organizations, events and
activities making a unique contribution to the quality of life in our community.

Please note that the organization, event and/or activity for which funding is being
sought must be located in our community, and/or primarily provide benefits for our
local residents.

Special consideration will be given to those events and activities which:

- Exhibit innovation
- Include community outreach and education
- Help create a sustainable community
- Complement the Town's Priorities and Strategic Plan

The Grant and Donation program is also geared to those seeking rental subsidization of
Town-owned facilities (i.e. Sauble Beach Community Centre, Wiarton Arena Auditorium,
etc.)

All applications meeting the criteria will not necessarily receive a grant or the amount
for which they applied.

Budget Amendment - Cemetery Restoration

2009 Budget Amending Public Notice

Notice is hereby given pursuant to bylaw #72008 that the Council of the Town of South Bruce
Peninsula plan to initiate the required recovery operations in the Edgehill Cemetery in the Village of
Colpoys subsequent to the storm damage to the property in December of 2008.

The estimate for Archaeological Research Associates Ltd. to carry out the necessary recovery
operations for the Edgehill Cemetery is $200,000.00.

As the information was not supplied to Council until May 19th 2009 and the 2009 budget was passed
by Council on May 12, 2009, an amendment to the 2009 budget is required.

Council's intention is to create a line item in the budget under Cemeteries to accommodate this
expenditure and to fund same from long term financing once the project is completed in 2009.

The Council will be considering the amendment at their Committee of the Whole meeting on June 16,
2009 at 9:30 a.m. in the Council Chambers located at 315 George Street, Wiarton, Ontario.

Written and verbal comments will be considered at the meeting. For further information please

This great day out on the Bruce Trail will feature three separate hiking opportunities for people of all
ages and abilities. Experienced hiking leaders from the Peninsula Bruce Hiking Club and the
Sydenham Hiking Club will guide participants through some of the sites and sounds of the world
famous Bruce Trail. This event is FREE for everyone!
Bruce County is giving free walking sticks to all the participants of the Wiarton Willie and Spirit Rock
Hikes!

Swap Day June 6 2009

SWAP DAY
Saturday, June 6, 2009

AFTER 6 PM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 5, 2009, PLACE
UNWANTED BUT STILL USABLE ITEMS AT THE CURB
FOR PICK UP.

Swap Day is a fun, environmental program which allows people to recycle
unwanted items.

Place unwanted items such as furniture, books, tools, sporting goods, toys,
etc. at the end of your driveway or the edge of your lawn. Tie a white plastic
bag to one or more of the items to indicate that the items are meant for Swap
Day.

The Town of South Bruce Peninsula does not assume liability for items
which are lost, removed or damaged during Swap Day. Please do not pick up
any items unless you are certain that they have been placed for pick up.

Remove leftover items from your driveway or lawn by 6:00 pm on June 6,
2009. There will be NO special municipal pick up of any items.
